How would a French Canadian pronounce Chrystian?
I have a French Canadian colleague whose first name is Chrystian. My US colleagues call him Christian but I think it should be pronounced as Chris-tee-ann. How would a French Canadian pronounce it?
The way you spelled it. If your colleague is French Canadian he is equally used to his name being pronounced with the French pronunciation as the English pronunciation. Don't worry, Christian is fine in an English-speaking setting. My name is Lynn (pronounced leen in France, but mainly Lynn in Quebec). When I am in France and people aren't familiar with Lynn, I say "Je m'appelle Line (leen), comme Caroline (Caroleen)"
